My beloved guinea pig, Emppu, passed away today. He was sick about six months ago and never really recovered from the sickness. It was a very hard decisision to put him to sleep but I know it was the best for him. The vet said that he wouldn't have lasted more than few days, so I'm glad I let him go before he died suffering.

Nelli who was left behind is doing quite well. I'm sure she knew long before me about Emppu's condition and that's why she took care of him and groomed him whenever she could. I'd like to think that she's glad too that Emppu didn't have to suffer. Nelli is getting new companion soon. A new baby girl. I'm sure she will take care of the newcomer and raise her well.
